PhosphoTech is sponsoring a CNRS (the french scientific research council) mission in the antarctic
The main objective of this exhibition led by Bertand Bouchard, doctoral student at the CNRS of Montpellier (Centre of Functional and Progressive Ecology), was to test the use of chemical signals (olfactory and gustatory) by humpback whales to locate the feeding grounds for krill, their main prey.
The krill enzymatic hydrolysate produced by PhosphoTech was used to study the behaviour of these cetaceans.
Access to the Antarctic continent is onboard the Ocean Tramp sailing boat, a 66-foot ketch with aluminium hull based at Ushuaia in Argentina.
